Satellite photos of Austin, TX, show it could meet its peak demand with rooftop solar

A sunbelt city could potentially generate enough juice to meet all of its peak, summer afternoon demand. That’s what Roger Duncan, general manager of Austin Energy, said this morning at a conference. 

It's a finding that melds with the research in Energy Self Reliant States, that most states could be self-sufficient on domestic renewable energy resources.
